A mobility station or mobile station is a connection point used in passenger traffic between different modes of transport . As an extension of the park-and-ride -Idee a mobility station offers mainly transit points for car sharing , bike sharing or private bike . As part of the traffic turnaround , mobility stations are being built at many train stations and bus stops so that people can change there more easily.

history

The first mobility stations in Germany were set up in 2003 in Bremen .

In the East Westphalian town of Altenbeken in North Rhine-Westphalia , the first mobile station was opened at the train station in 2017.
