Mochrum Loch is a freshwater lake in the traditional county of Wigtownshire in the Scottish Council Area Dumfries and Galloway . It is located in the north-west of The Machars peninsula about twelve kilometers southeast of Glenluce and west of Bladnoch .

The lake is at an altitude of 75 meters above sea level. Mochrum Loch has a length of 2.2 kilometers with a maximum width of 830 meters, resulting in an area of ​​91  hectares and a circumference of ten kilometers.

On the north bank of the Mochrum Loch, the runoff of the Castle Loch , located just 600 meters to the west, flows into , which feeds the lake volume of 1,910,888 m³. The catchment area of ​​Castle Loch is 5.3 km². The relatively shallow lake has an average depth of 2.1 meters and a maximum depth of 4.1 meters. The Water of Malzie flows off the north bank and flows east into the Bladnoch , which eventually drains into Wigtown Bay . There are several small islands in the lake. Gargrie Moor stretches between Castle Loch and Mochrum Loch .

The Tower House Old Place of Mochrum was built near the drain from Mochrum Loch in the late 15th century .
