Mojca Bitenc

Mojca Bitenc (born June 20, 1989 in Slovenj Gradec ) is a Slovenian opera singer with a soprano voice .

biography

In childhood and youth, Mojca Bitenc was a singer in various formations of the Oberkrainer Musikanten, with whom she continues to perform.

She studied medicine in Ljubljana and, from the third year of studies, she also studied singing at the music academy there with Barbara Jernejčič Fürst. She gained her first stage experience there in the title role of Niccolò Piccini's La cecchina . Further studies led her to Vlatka Oršanić at the Zagreb Music Academy . Since October 2014 she has appeared in various roles in the lyrical soprano field at Slovenian opera houses.

In German-speaking countries she became known as a soloist at the Bregenz Festival , where she took part in a master class with Brigitte Fassbaender in 2017 and performed as Contessa in Le nozze di Figaro . In 2018 she sang the soprano solo in Dvořák's Te Deum at the festival concert and performed Micaëla in Carmen on the Bregenz lake stage .
