The Molas Pass is a mountain pass in the southwestern part of the US state Colorado in San Juan County . The pass lies between Red Mountain Pass and Coal Bank Pass in the San Juan National Forest and runs between Coal Bank Pass in the south and Silverton in the north. The Million Dollar Highway , part of US Highway 550 , runs over the pass .
