history

Old logo

Local dairy farmers formed a cooperative in 1892 and founded the Dahlenburg dairy .

From the 1950s onwards , the cooperative began to specialize in drying food. In 1955, with the spray drying started, followed by 1962, the freeze-drying , 1978, the vacuum drying and 2002, roller drying . According to its own statements, Molda was the only company in Europe that operates four drying processes under one roof. The last major investment was made in 2007, when MOLDA invested 10.5 million euros in "Spray Tower 6".

In 1981 the cooperative was converted into a public limited company. The cooperative principles were retained. Only natural persons should be able to purchase shares , with preference given to those associated with agriculture. Shareholders in the dairy industry must deliver the milk produced in their operations to the company, which in turn was obliged to buy it.

Milk processing was given up in April 2004. Since then, the milk has been processed at Uelzena in Uelzen . For this purpose, corresponding cooperative shares were drawn in order to be able to ensure processing in the long term. The Molda obtained the milk quantity required for its own production from the spot market .

The Molda has developed from a classic country dairy into a specialist in the food industry. Milk processing no longer played a role in the company.
