The Uelzena eG is a North German dairy company headquartered in Lower Saxony Hanseatic city of Uelzen and other locations in Bismark , Ratzeburg , Neumünster , Warmsen and Saarbruecken . The cooperative sells its products under the brands Uelzena , Butaris , Buvita , Trilactis , Buti , Grubon , Hoche Butter and Scho .

history

The company was founded in Lüchow in 1952 and started production as so-called Ostmilch at the Uelzen and Lüchow locations. From 1972 on, the company traded under the name Uelzena Milchwerke eGmbH , from 1955 as Uelzena Milchwerke eG and finally as Uelzena eG since 1999 .

As one of the largest German milk processors, the Uelzena Group is a major national manufacturer of dairy products such as butter , clarified butter and cheese, as well as a leading manufacturer of powdered drinks in Europe. The company processed around 589 million kilograms of milk in the 2017 financial year.
