Career

Matthias Schmidt at the location of Wölfe , June 2018

Schmidt has been interested in the horror film genre since his youth. For his portrayals, he was inspired by horror film characters such as Jason Voorhees , Michael Myers and Leatherface , using his height of 2.00 meters as well as costumes and masks, like his cinematic role models, to later identify himself as a menacing figure on horror and Halloween - To stage events. Among other things, he appeared as a cosplayer at the Weekend of Horrors and thus established contacts with the German independent film scene.

After viewing Friday the 13th Part VIII - Manhattan death trap and doing his own research on his fictional character, he gave the pseudonym "Moloch" and advertised his work on the online portal Horrorfilmdarsteller.de .

He had his first appearance in 2013 in the music video Brutal Desire by Mean Ugly Godz . This was followed by an appearance in the film The Rise of Valhalla , where he played an undead Wehrmacht soldier . In 2015 he appeared in Stefan Sierecki's graduation film Hi8 - Resurrectio . In November 2016 David Brückner cast him for his horror film Paranormal Demons .

In 2017 he was responsible for the casting of "Michael- (K) a hard vampire film", which was directed by Jose Hidalgo.

In 2018 he worked as an actor for the interactive film "Moral King". The film is a mixture of a feature film and a computer game. The viewer can determine the course of action himself.

Matthias Schmidt has been studying film acting at the Ruhrakademie since autumn 2017 and appears increasingly under his real name in order to expand his range of roles.
