Monica Gubser

Monica Gubser (born January 17, 1931 in Zurich ; † February 27, 2019 in Solothurn ) was a Swiss stage and film actress .

Life

After the drama school in Zurich, Gubser worked at the Schauspielhaus Zurich (still as an apprentice ), the Stadttheater Basel and the Theater Biel-Solothurn . Most recently she was a freelance actress and can be found on various stages, primarily in Zurich. In addition to a leading role in the movie Die Herbstzeitlosen , she also played roles in Lüthi and Blanc , Eurocops and other film productions.

Her greatest theater roles during her time in Biel-Solothurn were Antigone and Hermia from Midsummer Night's Dream . From 1955 to 1985 she ran a restaurant in Solothurn with her husband. During this time she paused acting, but then rejoined the ensemble of the Biel-Solothurn City Theater. From 1990 she also belonged to the Zürcher Märchenbühne and since 1994 to the Winterthur Summer Theater . Gubser last lived in Zuchwil near Solothurn. She was widowed and the mother of three sons.
