Monika Czernin

Monika Czernin (* 1965 in Klagenfurt ) is an Austrian author and filmmaker .

Life

Monika Czernin studied pedagogy, political science, philosophy and journalism at the University of Vienna , completing her degree in 1992 as a Magistra. During her studies she worked for ORF radio and later for ORF television in the ORF office in Berlin. Afterwards she was the cultural editor for the daily newspaper Die Presse . Since 1996 she has been living as a freelance writer and filmmaker on Lake Starnberg .

In 2005 she wrote the novel biography I lived too short about her second great aunt, Nora Kinsky . The story of Nora Countess Kinsky , in 2007 the television documentary The Countess and the Russian Revolution - Nora Kinsky - The Red Cross Baroness , designed by Monika Czernin, was published. Ottokar Czernin is also one of her ancestors , in 2010 she published his travel records under the title Graf Ottokar Czernin: My African Diary .

Her educational books , which she wrote together with Remo H. Largo , are longsellers . With Anna Sacher and her hotel . In Vienna at the turn of the century , it made it onto the Spiegel bestseller lists .
