Monika Hutter

Monika Hutter-Häfliger (born June 23, 1949 in Ibach , Schwyz ; † September 27, 2001 in Zug ) was a Swiss politician ( SP ). She was killed as the acting councilor during the Zug assassination attempt .

biography

She grew up in Zug as the daughter of Franz and Marie Häfliger. She was married to Paul Hutter and had two children. Between 1965 and 1970 she attended the Menzingen seminar and trained as a primary school teacher. Between 1982 and 84 she trained as an adult educator at the Academy for Adult Education in Lucerne.

Political functions

Influenced by her father, who was a trade unionist, she was socially oriented and joined the Social Democratic Party of Switzerland in 1986 . From 1987 to 1998 she was a member of the Zug Cantonal Council , and from 1993 onwards as parliamentary group president . In 1997/98, she presided over the Cantonal Council. From 1999 she was a member of the government and headed the health department.
