Monique de Beer (born May 29, 1975 in Tilburg ) is a former Dutch wheelchair tennis player .

Career

Monique de Beer started wheelchair tennis at the age of 23 and started in the quadriplegic class .

She took part in two Paralympic Games . In 2004 in Athens she was eliminated in the quarter-finals against Nick Taylor . In doubles she reached the semi-finals with Bas van Erp , which she lost in three sets against Peter Norfolk and Mark Eccleston . They then won the bronze game against Sarah Hunter and Brian McPhate . In 2008 in Beijing she only took part in the individual competition, in which she was defeated in two sets by Peter Norfolk in the first round. After this game, she ended her career.

At the Wheelchair Tennis Masters she reached the final of the doubles competition in 2006. With Dorrie Timmermans-van Hall , she lost this in two sets against David Wagner and Nick Taylor.

In the world rankings she achieved her best placings in singles with rank 16 on September 5, 2005 and in doubles with rank ten on July 26, 2004.
