The Museum van Bommel van Dam is an art museum opened in 1971 in Venlo in the Dutch province of Limburg . Museum van Bommel van Dam is one of the ten museums that belong to the Crossart cooperation .

The private collection of Maarten van Bommel (1906–1991) and Reina van Bommel (nee van Dam) (1910–2008), which comprises around 1200 exhibits, was donated to the city of Venlo in 1969 and forms the core of today's museum collection.

After his predecessors Lei Alberigs, Thei Voragen and Rick Vercauteren, Paulo Martina is now museum director.

In 2014 the exhibition Join In! instead of. For € 100 per m² it was possible to rent a piece of the museum wall for the duration of the exhibition. Apart from the payment of the rental price, there were no conditions of participation.

The focus of the collection is on works of contemporary Dutch art, etc. a. of the artist associations CoBrA and Amsterdamer Limburger / Amsterdamse Limburgers . The artists in the collection include: Karel Appel , Armando , Bram Bogart , Kees van Bohemen , Eugène Brands , Gerrit Benner , Constant Nieuwenhuys , Guillaume Cornelis van Beverloo , Pieter Defesche , Jef Diederen , Rineke Dijkstra , Edgar Fernhout , Hubertine Heijermans , Frank van Hemert , Anton Heyboer , Hokusai , Ger Lataster , Lucebert , Lei Molin , Jaap Nanninga , Erwin Olaf , Anton Rooskens , Cornelia Schleime , Rob Scholte , Jan Schoonhoven , Shinkichi Tajiri , JCJ Vanderheyden , Jaap Wagemaker and Theo Wolvecamp .
