Frank van Hemert (born January 10, 1956 in Kerkrade ) is a Dutch painter and graphic artist .

life and work

Van Hemert trained as a teacher in Tilburg from 1975 to 1979 and then studied from 1980 to 1982 in Ateliers '63 in Haarlem .

Frank van Hemert's paintings have an autobiographical character. He paints in series. The titles of some series are: Mind of Tibet , Engel , Flowers of Romance and Secret Survivors .

In 2015, Hemert received compensation of 200,000 euros after years of trial against the Schmincke company . This amount was paid because Schmincke's “meat color No. 213” became liquid again years after it was used. This caused damage to works that Hemert painted between 1991 and 1995. Further compensation payments are still being negotiated.
