The Montaña de la Arena is a mountain in the municipality of La Oliva on the Canary Island of Fuerteventura . It is the youngest volcano on the island.

The mountain is located about 2 km north of La Oliva and just as far west of Villaverde. Its summit is 420 m above sea level and about 120 m above the surrounding land. The oval volcanic cone has a diameter of 700 to 840 m at the base. At its top is a crater 120 m deep and up to 200 m wide, which is connected to a smaller secondary crater in the east. There is another small crater at the northeast base of the volcano. On its southern flank there is a quarry for mining Picón .

During the eruptive phase of the Montaña de la Arena about 10,000 years ago, its lava flows flowed in all directions, but particularly far north to the edge of today's Lajares. The resulting lava field Malpaís de la Arena has an area of 12 km², of which 8.7 km² have been under protection since 1987 as the Monumento Natural Malpaís de la Arena .
