Montgomery is a town in the northern part of Orange County in the US state of New York . The city includes the three villages of Montgomery , Walden and Maybrook and in 2010 had a population of 22,606. Montgomery is named after General Richard Montgomery from the time of the American Revolutionary War (* 1736, † 1775).
According to the US Census Bureau , the United States Census Bureau covers a total area of 132.6 km², of which 130.2 km² is land and 2.4 km² is water. 25.2% of the population can be traced back to Irish ancestors, 23.0% to Italian and 17.8% to German ancestors.
The motorcycle manufacturer Orange County Choppers had its first two manufacturing facilities in Montgomery.
