The Morab is an American breed of horse. It is a cross between Morgan and Arab .

Exterior

Like the Arab, the Morab is a noble horse with large expressive eyes and large nostrils. The profile of the head is straight or slightly concave. The neck is strong but noble, the chest broad and deep. The back is short and straight, the croup is muscular with a high tail. The Morab stands on perfect legs, his height is between 145 and 157 cm. All coat colors without spots are represented, badges on the head and on the legs are permitted.

The Morab is a calm, affectionate and reliable, at the same time intelligent horse. His strong hindquarters helps him to move fluently, he carries himself in good gathering. The Morab is suitable as a riding horse and also for a carriage horse . Lately its popularity has increased a lot. It is particularly common in the USA .

Breeding history

The horse breed Morab originated around 1800, until 1930 the Morabs were registered in the breeding registers of Morgan and Arabs. The International Morab Register was only established in 1992. Morabs look very similar to Arabs and are very versatile, because Morabs are a cross between Arabs and Morgan , there may also be a slight influence of the Quarter Horse in the ancestral line .
