The Moran Glacier is a 16 km long glacier in the northeast of the West Antarctic Alexander I Island . It flows together with the Walter Glacier, which flows into the southern flank, in an easterly direction to Schokalski Bay .
The first aerial photos of him were taken during an overflight during the American Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition (1947–1948). The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey carried out surveys between 1948 and 1950. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him after Commander Clifford D. Moran (1930–2012) of the United States Navy , a pilot in the VXE-6 squadron in the Deep Freeze operations of 1966 and 1967.
