Morchella deqinensis is a hose fungus ( Ascomycota ) from the family of morel relatives (Morchellaceae).

features

Macroscopic features

Morchella deqinensis forms hollow, from 5.2 to 9.5 cm, in hat and stem structured fruit bodies (complex Apothecia ), said hat and stem are firmly fused to each other. The hat is egg-shaped, sometimes broadly conical. The few ribs run vertically and are greenish-gray. The cream-colored to pale cream-colored pits are irregularly square and two to three times longer than wide. The trama is thin, firm and also cream-colored to pale cream-colored. The fruit layer is located in the pits, is 6 to 10 micrometers thick, flattened at the base and translucent . The smell and taste are not pronounced.

Microscopic features

The pits have crystals that are visible in the stereo microscope. The cylindrical, hyaline hoses measure 9.91 to 10.41 at 105 to 148.65 micro meter . You always have eight spurs . These are elliptical to egg-shaped, smooth, translucent, thin-walled and without oil droplets. They measure 6.4 to 8.1 by 9.2 to 9.6 microns. The spore print is cream-colored. The paraphyses are club-shaped, hyaline, measuring 3.59 to 4.5 by 43.38 to 43.42 micrometers. They are septate at the base .

ecology

Morchella deqinensis grows on the ground in coniferous or mixed forests.

distribution

In the first description of Morchella deqinensis, the province of Yunnan was given as the distribution area with a site in Deqin district between 2800 and 3200 m.

Systematics and taxonomy

Morchella deqinensis was first described in 2006 by Shu H.Li , YCZhao , HMChai and MHZhong . The species is reminiscent of Morchella umbrina , but the difference is the tapered stem, grained at the top and grooved at the bottom. Morchella umbrina also has smaller pits.
