The murder summit ( Afrikaans Moordkoppie ) indicates a low hill (hill), which includes a historic battlefield in Okahandja in the region Otjozondjupa in Namibia marked. This has been a national monument of Namibia since July 28, 1972 .
On August 23, 1850 the Herero fought at the Mordkuppe under leader Oove and others Muhoko Kahitjene against the Africans , a group of the Nama , under Kaptein Jan Jonker Afrikaner . This was supported by the Amraal and the Red Nation . Both parties repeatedly retaliated against previous attacks. About 700 Herero, who took refuge on the hill, were killed by Africans.
