More than friendship is a German independent feature film by director Timmy Ehegötz from 2013.
The film tells the mutual love of Mia, Lukas and Jonas on a journey beyond social conventions. The trio's unbroken lust for life is put to an unexpected test by a stroke of fate and leads the intimate community on a final shared adventure.
The student film project celebrated its team premiere on July 28, 2013 at Filmkunst 66 in Berlin. The film has been shown nationwide in selected art house cinemas since October 3, 2013 . The total feature length is 88 minutes.

Mia, Lukas & Jonas have been one heart and one soul since their earliest childhood. But everything has been different for three years. Friendship has turned into love that breaks all conventions. But with their sexuality and three-person relationship, they always offend society ... Once a year the trio goes on a trip. Here they let their emotions run free. Mia, Lukas & Jonas try to shake off the social constraints and taboos at least during this time. Now another trip like this is coming up. And this is exactly where the film starts: You are out and about with a rented motorhome. But this time the general conditions have changed. Jonas was diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer a few months ago. They know: it is their last adventure together. Mia and Lukas want to stand by their sick friend and try not to think about their imminent death. But the vow to spend the last trip exclusively in joy fails when they can no longer hide their fears and sadness. Shortly before the end of the journey, the pain for Jonas becomes unbearable and everyone's hope fades.

Directed by Timmy Ehegötz. The film was produced by the film studio "Beyond Pictures". The budget of the film project (a total of 33,050 euros) was largely financed by those involved themselves. 4,965 euros were raised through a crowdfunding campaign.
The film was shot from August 4th to 26th, 2012 in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania , Lower Saxony , Berlin and Brandenburg with a Sony PMW-EX1R (Full HD, 16: 9). A total of 37 hours and 35 minutes of footage was recorded. A re- shoot took place for two days in May 2013. The total feature length is 88 minutes.
The post-production began (rough cut) in September 2012 found. The fine cut was completed from April to mid-July 2013.
From October 3, 2013, the film was shown nationwide in selected arthouse cinemas. The DVD for the film was released in stores on November 29, 2013.
Festivals / prizes
The film was nominated at the "VIEWSTER Online Film Festival 2014" (VOFF for short) and won at the "Great Lakes International Film Festival 2014" in the "Best LGBT" category.
The film also took part in the "Fort Lauderdale Gay and Lesbian Film festivals 2014" and was shown in theaters on October 12, 2014.
Soundtrack to the film
On October 20, 2013, the “Original Motion Picture Soundtrack” (consisting of 16 tracks; running length 46 minutes) was released in stores.
