Morgenstelle is the name of a town in the northwest of the university town of Tübingen . The name was transferred to the street “Auf der Morgenstelle”, which was laid by this win, and to the scientific institutes of the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen built there in the 1960s . Opposite the building complex is the professional association accident clinic .
The Morgenstelle is located in the northwest of Tübingen, 450 meters above the city center. Only 350 meters further to the east is the point in the Elysium that was calculated as the geographical center of Baden-Württemberg .
The Morgenstelle houses the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences with the departments of biology , chemistry , pharmacy , mathematics and physics . There is also a larger cafeteria (Mensa II), which can also be used as a venue for concerts, parties, etc. a. as well as a branch of the Tübingen University Library . As part of the Botanical Institute, the extensive area of the new botanical garden opened in 1968 with greenhouses, tropicarium , outdoor facilities and arboretum is connected to the north . It is not only used for research, but is also used as a local recreation area. With over 10,000 plant species, it is one of the five most important of around 70 botanical gardens in Germany.
The Morgenstelle is connected to the Tübingen core city by the local public transport (ÖPNV) of Stadtverkehr Tübingen with bus lines 5, 13, 18 and 19.
