Moritz Bauer (born August 4, 1817 in Langen (Hesse) ; † November 3, 1897 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German businessman and politician .

Bauer, who was of Jewish faith, lived as a merchant in the Free City of Frankfurt . There he was also politically active. In 1865 he was a member of the legislative body of the Free City of Frankfurt. After the annexation of the Free City of Frankfurt by Prussia , he was a member of the Frankfurt city ​​council from November 22, 1880 and again from November 25, 1886 until the end of 1892 for District 1 (Ostend) .
