Moritz Deutsch (painter)
Moritz Deutsch (* 1815 in Buda ; † 1882 in Vienna ) was an Austrian painter .
Moritz Deutsch initially worked as a carpenter in Pest , he studied history painting with interruptions from 1834 to 1840 at the Art Academy in Vienna under Leopold Kupelwieser , in 1842 at the Accademia di belle arti di Venezia and in Rome .
In 1834 he took part in his first exhibition in Pest, from 1843 to 1859 he took part regularly in the exhibitions of the Pest Art Association. In 1861 he became a member of the Vienna Künstlerhaus . From 1864 to 1868 and from 1871 to 1873 he was co-owner of the lithographic printing company founded in Pest in 1858 by his brother Leopold Deutsch .
Moritz Deutsch mainly dealt with portrait and genre painting .
