Moritz Heinrich Hauser

Moritz Heinrich Hauser , also Moriz Heinrich Hauser ( August 28, 1826 in Dresden - May 21, 1857 in Königsberg ) was a German song composer and conductor.

Life

Hauser was a student of Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy , Louis Spohr and Moritz Hauptmann . He was first Kapellmeister at the Düsseldorf Theater , then at the Königsberg City Theater . He became known in Königsberg for a successful first performance of Beethoven's 9th Symphony . Hauser composed several songs as well as the gypsy opera Der Erbe von Hohenegk , for which Eduard Devrient wrote the libretto, and which premiered in Leipzig in May 1855 without any particular success.

His father was the opera singer Franz Hauser (1794–1870), his brother the opera singer Josef Hauser (1828–1903), who was married to the opera singer Maria Magdalena Hauser (1829–1871).
