Moritz Hermann quarter

Moritz Hermann Viertel (born July 24, 1842 in Unterdöhlen , † July 10, 1877 in Freiberg ) was a German mine surveyor and university professor.

Life

Viertel attended the Polytechnic School in Dresden and studied at the Bergakademie Freiberg from 1860 to 1864 . He then worked as a practical surveyor in Zauckerode . In 1870 he began studying at the Zurich Polytechnic . In March 1871 he came back to Freiberg, where he was initially employed on a trial basis as a teacher for markers . He also gave courses in geodesy . On October 1, 1872, his position was converted into a permanent position, and in 1875 he became a professor.

Moritz Hermann Viertel died shortly before his 35th birthday in Freiberg. His grave is on the Donatsfriedhof in Freiberg .
