Moroni is a prophet in the Book of Mormon and is the religion founder Joseph Smith as angels have appeared. It plays a prominent role for the Mormons , but is unknown in the Christian Bible. Mormons believe that he is mentioned in Rev 14.6  EU .

The Book of Mormon, published by Joseph Smith, is the only source of the alleged existence of Moroni, along with other statements by Smith. In this book, Moroni is the last prophet mentioned. Moroni is said to have lived on the American continent in the early 5th century AD and completed the summary of the scriptures of prophets handed down to him, with which his father Mormon began.

Smith claims that Moroni, who was resurrected as an angel, appeared to him between 1823 and 1827. Moroni had instructed Joseph Smith that in the hill Cumorah in the north of the State of New York to translate hidden Book of Mormon into English. Subsequently, under God's direction, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints ( Mormons ) was restored by Joseph Smith in 1830.

Many temples in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints feature a statue of the angel Moroni holding a trumpet that symbolizes the preaching of the gospel to all the world.
