Morten Nielsen (born February 24, 1990 in Copenhagen ) is a Danish football player . The striker is currently under contract with Rot-Weiß Erfurt and played for Denmark in the national youth teams. He is the son of the former Danish national player Jørgen Nielsen, known as Benny Nielsen .

Career

Nielsen began his career at Kjøbenhavns Boldklub before moving to Chelsea FC's youth academy in 2005. In July 2007 he signed his first professional contract, but played mainly on the reserve team for the Londoners.

Landskrona BoIS 'head of sport , Mats Aronsson , became aware of him in March 2009 , and a loan deal was negotiated in the course of the negotiations. After the loan deal in Sweden ended and those responsible at Chelsea saw no further use for the Danish international, the ongoing contract was terminated. In July 2009 he signed with AZ Alkmaar, but could not prevail. In March 2010, Nielsen moved again on loan to Landskrona BoIS, where he was active under the direction of Henrik Larsson .

In summer 2010 he went back to Denmark, where he signed a contract with the first division club FC Midtjylland . After he was not used in the 2010/11 season and only completed a short assignment at the beginning of the 2011/12 season, he was awarded to the second division club FC Fredericia at the end of August 2011 until the end of the year, where he should collect more match practice. However, there he only came to two missions. In January 2012 he terminated his contract with FC Midtjylland to look for a new challenge. However, he could not find a new club and therefore paused for a few months.

In October 2012 Nielsen was supposed to complete a trial training session with the German third division club Rot-Weiß Erfurt , but was able to arrive due to illness. At the beginning of January 2013 he was given a second chance to audition for Erfurt. Due to another injury to his calf , which he sustained while training with the team, the duration of his trial training was extended. After he was able to convince, he signed a contract at the end of January 2013 until the end of the 2012/13 season with the option for another year. He made his first appearance on February 2, 2013 in the game of the 24th matchday against VfL Osnabrück , in which he gave the template for the 2-1 winner. In November 2013 he dissolved his contract in Erfurt for private reasons.
