Morten Tyldum (born May 19, 1967 in Bergen ) is a Norwegian director .

Life

Tyldum was educated at the School of Visual Arts in New York City . He then went back to Norway to work for the NRK television station . He continued to direct music videos, promotional videos and short films. He was named film talent of the year in his home country in 1999.

In 2003 his film debut Buddy was released. The film received mixed reviews.

In 2008 he directed an episode of the crime series Der Wolf . This appeared as a movie.

In 2011, Tyldum's third film, Headhunters , was released, a film adaptation of the novel of the same name by Jo Nesbø . The film received positive reviews. It also became the most commercially successful feature film of all time in Norway.

Tyldum's first English-language film is the drama The Imitation Game (2014) about the life of British mathematician Alan Turing , who received eight Academy Award nominations . a. in the categories of Best Director and Best Film , and finally won an Oscar in the category of Best Adapted Screenplay .

Most recently, Tyldum directed the science fiction film Passengers .
