Moshe Arad

Moshe Arad (born August 15, 1934 in the Kingdom of Romania , † October 2019 ) was an Israeli diplomat .

Life

Arad immigrated to Israel in 1950. After serving in the Israeli Army from 1953 to 1956, he studied at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem from 1956 to 1962 , where he received a Bachelor of Political Science and International Relations and a Bachelor of Laws from the University's Faculty of Law.

From 1962 Arad was active in the Israeli Foreign Ministry. Among other things, he was the Israeli ambassador to Mexico from 1983 to 1987 and the Israeli ambassador to the United States from 1987 to 1990 .

His son Michael Arad is an Israeli architect best known for his involvement in the World Trade Center Memorial .
