Moshe Kaplinski ( Hebrew משה קפלינסקי; *  January 20, 1957 in Gedera ) is a former Israeli Aluf (German about major general ) and was the deputy chief of staff of the Israeli armed forces until 2007 . Since the resignation of Dan Chalutz on January 17, 2007, he was provisional in the office of the Chief of Staff . He handed over this post to Gabi Aschkenasi on February 14, 2007 and the post of Deputy Chief of Staff on October 1, 2007 to Dan Harel .

Previously he was the commanding general of the Central Command , which is responsible for the occupied territories of the West Bank . In August 2002 he took over the command from Aluf Jitzchak Eitan .

Kaplinski is a veteran in the Golani Brigade . Its previous uses include a. Therefore, Kaplinski handed over the official business to Ashkenazi on February 14th. He handed over the post of Deputy Chief of Staff on October 1, 2007 to Dan Harel .

He has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Bar-Ilan University and a Master of Business Administration of the University of Tel Aviv . He also completed the US Army officer course.
