The Moseltalbrücke at Schweich is a highway bridge of A 1 , the Mosel spans at flow 177,72 kilometers. The girder bridge made of prestressed concrete , which is also known in the literature as the Moselle Bridge Schweich , is located in the Trier-Saarburg district in Rhineland-Palatinate . The southern abutment is located at the Moseltal motorway triangle , where the A 602 is crossed.

With a span of 192 m, it was the prestressed concrete girder bridge with the second largest span in Germany after the Bendorfer Rhine Bridge . No other bridge of this type with a larger span was put into operation until 2003.

construction

The 986.5 m long, jointless prestressed concrete bridge was built between 1971 and 1974 according to a special proposal from Dyckerhoff & Widmann AG with architectural advice from Gerd Lohmer . The deck bridge is characterized by the 192 m wide current opening and the two 106 m long side panels . In the middle section of the bridge, the superstructure has a variable construction height, a maximum of 9.8 m above the river pillars and 4.1 m in the middle of the field. In the transverse direction, the superstructure consists of two single-cell hollow boxes , the deck slabs of which are monolithically connected to one another. The main pillars, each standing under a hollow box, are designed as two 10 m wide and 11 m high reinforced concrete slabs. At the top they are clamped in the box girder of the superstructure and at the bottom on neo-pot Teflon bearings with bearing forces of up to 6000  Mp .

While the approach bridges on a formwork were erected in 19 m long sections usually came in the power and opening the side panels cantilever used.
