Longuich is a municipality in the Trier-Saarburg district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the Verbandsgemeinde Schweich on the Roman Wine Route . The place is on the right bank of the Moselle in the Moselle Franconian language area.

The community consists of the districts Longuich, Kirsch and Sang-Neuhaus (on Landesstrasse 151 , formerly Bundesstrasse 52 ).

Longuich is a Gallo-Roman (more precisely: Moselle -Roman ) place name , which is derived from a foundation in the 1st century called Longus Vicus (long village, long quarter). The place has been inhabited at least since Roman times, as indicated by various finds, in particular the Villa Urbana , whose reconstructed bathing wing can be viewed.

At the beginning of the 19th century, the Prussian mayorship of Longuich emerged from the French Mairie Longuich .
