history
Temmels was first mentioned in a document in 634 as Villa Tamaltio in the will of Adalgisel Grimo , just like a church of St. Peter located there. The two settlement centers of the village are regarded as being of Roman and Franconian origins on the one hand . Temmels belonged to Luxembourg until the French Revolution . The Teutonic Order had been fortunate here since the 13th century via the Landkommende Trier with the Georgshof .
On July 18, 1946 Temmels, together with 80 other municipalities in the districts of Trier and Saarburg , was annexed to the Saar area , which was separated from the rest of the French occupation zone in February 1946 and which was no longer under the Allied Control Council at the time . On June 6, 1947 this territorial outsourcing was withdrawn to 21 municipalities, so Temmels came to the 1946 newly formed state of Rhineland-Palatinate .

Attractions
- The Catholic parish church of St. Peter was built in 1861/62 on the outskirts of the village with neo-Gothic furnishings (the old church with the same patronage was closer to the Moselle on the site of the current cemetery).
- In the center there are partly well-preserved old houses and courtyards.
- The Georgshof , a former estate of the Trier Kommende of the Teutonic Order, has cultural and historical value . The group of buildings on the Moselle, built in 1785/86, had been left to decay since the 1970s, but still clearly shows its former importance. Public conservation funds were approved in 1996. At this point in time, only the outer walls of the main building remained, the building was subsequently given a new roof and was thus saved from complete ruin. In 2009 the site was sold to an investor who planned new buildings to replace the outbuildings, then demolished the outbuildings but did not build any new buildings. The main building was further secured and repaired, initially the expansion as a hotel was planned, but work has been on hold for some time.
