They were therefore awarded the right to promotion to the Bundesliga. Pölking scored an average of 1.8 points / game in the 19/20 season.

Outside of sport

In the summer of 2020, Pölking launched an internet petition to rename the Berlin subway stop Onkel Toms Hütte on the new housing estate of the same name from the 1920s. The son of a Cameroonian mother and a German father feels offended by the name. The name was "for many a kind of racism," said Pölking of the time , since it goes back indirectly to the fictional character Uncle Tom , the term Uncle Tom is an insult and is used to designate a black man as a traitor. He also mentioned Uncle Tom Syndrome .
