The Mosfellsdalur is a valley with a settlement in the capital area of Iceland .

It is located south of Mount Mosfell and north of Helgafell in the municipality of Mosfellsbær . The Þingvallavegur S36 and the Kaldakvísl river run through the valley. The Mosfellsdalur extends in the east from the Gljúfrasteinn house in Halldór Laxness to the ring road R1 in the west. In the valley there is a settlement with 222 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2019) . For comparison, 11,463 people live in the entire municipality of Mosfellsbær.
