The Motława is a passenger ferry on the Polish Motława River in Gdansk .
history
The island of Ołowianka in the Motława River is now connected to the river banks by two bridges. It is believed that there has been a ferry service between the island and the city since 1687.
The ship
The ferry is built as a double-ended ferry . A gangway is carried on each side, which enables passengers to get on and off. Furthermore, the ferry only has a single open-air deck that is accessible to people, although it is covered and offers some seating.
The engine is below the deck. The control bridge is over the covered passenger area.
The ferry is mainly used by visitors to the Maritime Museum in Gdansk. The ferry runs every 15 minutes during the day. The crossing takes about a minute.
