Moundros or Moudros ( Greek Μούντρος [ ˈmudrɔs / ˈmundrɔs ] ( m. Sg. )) Is a village with 91 inhabitants on the Greek island of Crete . Together with the village of Velonado (Βελονάδο, 88 inhabitants) it forms a local community in the municipality of Nikiforos Fokas of the municipality of Rethymno .

Moundros is about 300 meters above sea level, Velonado at 400. Both villages are connected by the easily accessible Moundros Gorge . The more spectacular Kollito Gorge, through which a section of the E4 leads, can also be reached from Moundros. Both gorges meet northwest below the village near the desert of Nisi (Νησί), which takes its name from the island-like location between the gorges.

Moundros is already mentioned in all Venetian censuses of the 16th and 17th centuries, the oldest church in the place (Agii Anargyri) is from the 11th century. There are two rich springs in the village that supply the residents and their gardens with water.
