The Mount Arayat National Park is located on the island of Luzon , Philippines . It was established in 1933 in the province of Pampanga in the municipality of Arayat and has a current size of 38.36 km². It was named after the extinct volcano Arayat , which has a peak height of 1030 meters and rises as an island mountain above the central lowland plain of the island of Luzon.
The national park is about 96 km northwest of Manila and 16 km south of the community center of Magalang . The next big city is Angeles City , about 30 km to the west. The national park is home to a wide range of wildlife such as the rare swiftlets , Orientturteltauben , fruit doves , babblers , bulbul , Oriole and many others. The Arayat is covered with dense vegetation, rainforest areas alternate with grasslands. There are smaller lakes around the mountain, some of which are fed by waterfalls.
The temperatures in the national park are around 27 ° C in the annual mean. The average annual precipitation is 1,873 cm.
