Anna Mosolf
Anna Mosolf (born October 6, 1895 in Hanover ; † November 8, 1974 there ) was a German teacher , author and editor , rector and ministerial advisor .
Life
Anna Mosolf was born in Hanover as the daughter of an agricultural machinery manufacturer and dealer. There she attended from 1903 to 1910 first the Stadttöchterschule III , then the high school for girls .
From 1912 to 1916 she trained as a teacher for middle and high school for girls and then worked until 1933, among other things, as rector, chairwoman of the Hanoverian teachers' association , member of the school deputation and the examination committee for teachers . During the Weimar Republic , she ran in several state elections for the German Democratic Party (DDP).
After the National Socialists seized power , Anna Mosolf was transferred to a rural elementary school towards the end of the Second World War .
After the end of the war, Mosolf first worked as a school councilor in Neustadt am Rübenberge , then succeeded Katharina Petersen as a ministerial councilor in the school department of the Lower Saxony Ministry of Education under Günther Rönnebeck .
Anna Mosolf was a co-founder of the Education and Science Union and, together with Theanolte Bähnisch , co-founder of the German Women's Association . From 1961 to 1964 she was a member of the board of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation .

Honors
After the City Council of Hanover decided in 1999 to name new streets mainly after women who played an important role, a brochure was published in August 2011 that gives information about previous street names after female personalities and lists a number of people which street names should be used in the future. The latter also includes a short biography of Anna Mosolf .
