The Mount Béchervaise is a 2,360 m high massif of brown rock in the East Antarctic Mac Robertson Land . In the Prince Charles Mountains, it rises 1.5 km east of Mount Lacey in the Athos Range . It is characterized by a vertical north flank and apart from an ice cap on the summit, it is not covered in snow.
The Australian polar explorer John Mayston Béchervaise (1910-1998), after whom this mountain is named, visited it in November 1955 together with a team from the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions .
