Mount Bastin ( French Mont Bastin ) is a 2000 m high mountain in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . It rises 1.5 km north of Mount Perov in the Belgica Mountains .
Participants in the Belgian Antarctic Expedition in 1957/58 under Gaston de Gerlache de Gomery (1919-2006) discovered him. It is named after the Belgian meteorologist and polar researcher Félix E. Bastin (1920–1969), who helped with the scientific preparation of the research trip. The English-language name has been accepted by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names since 1965 .
