Mount Bierle is a 2360 m high mountain in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Admiralty Mountains it rises 7 km north of Mount Granholm .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it on the basis of its own measurements and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1960 to 1963. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1970 after the American biologist Donald A. Bierle of the United States Antarctic Research Program , who worked at McMurdo Station in the Antarctic summers between 1966 and 1967 and between 1967 and 1968 .
