At 1485  m, Mount Boyles is the highest mountain in the Thomas Mountains south of the Sweeney Mountains in Ellsworthland in West Antarctica .

It was discovered and roughly mapped during the US Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition (1947–1948). The United States Geological Survey carried out a more detailed mapping based on its own measurements and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from the years 1961 to 1967. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it after Joseph Michael Boyles, a geologist on a team on the survey who visited the mountain between 1977 and 1978.
