Mount Caldwell is a mountain near the western end of Thurston Island off the Eights coast of West Antarctic Ellsworthland . In the Walker Mountains it rises 5 km southeast of Mount Lopez .

Its geographic position was determined from aerial photographs taken during the US Operation Highjump (1946–1947) in December 1946. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named the mountain in 1960 after Henry Howard Caldwell (1905–1985), captain of the USS Pine Island , an aircraft mother ship and flagship of the Eastern Associations in Operation High Jump.
