Mount Cara is a 3,145 m high mountain in the Antarctic Ross Dependency . In the Queen Alexandra chain in the Transantarctic Mountains it rises about 6.5 km north-northwest of Mount Lysaght .
It was discovered by participants in the Nimrod expedition (1907-1909) under the British polar explorer Ernest Shackleton . The name of the mountain is probably derived from the Irish "Mo Anam Cara" for "my soul mate".
