Mount Carnes is a mountain in East Antarctica, Victoria Land . In the Asgard Range of the Transantarctic Mountains, it rises 3 km east of Saint Pauls Mountain .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1976 after Philip A. Carnes, engineer and construction coordinator of the company Antarctic Support Services , who was responsible for the expansion and maintenance of the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station , the Siple , as part of the United States Antarctic Research Program from 1973 to 1976 -Station and McMurdo station monitored.
