Mount Caroline Mikkelsen is a small mountain on the Ingrid Christensen coast of Princess Elisabeth Land in East Antarctica . It rises between the Hargreaves Glacier and the Polar Times Glacier on the southern foothills of Prydz Bay and 6 km north-northwest of Svarthausen . Despite its low height of only 235 m , it is the highest point in the wider area.
The Norwegian captain Klarius Mikkelsen (* 1887) discovered him on February 20, 1935 on his voyage with the whaling ship Thorshavn . Mikkelsen named him after his wife Caroline (* 1906, née Mandel), who accompanied him on this trip.
