Peter Sutton
Peter Sutton (born April 23, 1943 in Newcastle upon Tyne , England , † August 24, 2008 ) was a British sound engineer .
Life
Sutton began his career in the late 1960s, his first work was the documentary about the Beatles Let It Be . He was in two films of The Pink Panther of Blake Edwards involved and worked in the 1980s, often with Jim Henson , including The Dark Crystal and The Witches . In 1981 , along with Bill Varney , Steve Maslow and Gregg Landaker , he won an Oscar for Best Sound for The Empire Strikes Back . For the film, he was also nominated for the BAFTA Film Award in the category Best Sound , but could not win the award. For his work for television, he was also nominated twice for the Primetime Emmy .
Sutton died in 2008 at the age of 65.
