Mount Christmas ( English for Christmas Mountain) is an evenly pointed mountain with a height of 1745 m (according to other information 1889 m ) on the Shackleton coast of the Antarctic Ross Dependency . It rises about 16.7 km west-southwest of Cape May in the Nash Range of the Transantarctic Mountains .
The mountain was discovered during the British National Antarctic Expedition (1901-1904) under Robert Falcon Scott , so named because it was the most prominent geographic object in sight on Christmas Day 1902.
