Mount Coates is a 2060 m high mountain in East Antarctic Victoria Land . It rises east of the Borns Glacier in the Kukri Hills .
The western group of the Terra Nova Expedition (1910-1913) led by the British geographer Thomas Griffith Taylor (1880-1963 ) named the mountain. The namesake is not known.
